From here we move to Whakworth to have a lunch break. After lunch  we drive to the “Goat Island” marine reserve. We included a 45 minute trip with a Glass bottom boat. The fascinating 45 minutes Eco adventure gives various views of the fish and abundant marine live above and below the water. Also admire the outer reefs and big caves of Goat Island.

Expect to see some of this marine life: Fish seen are snapper some of them are up to 1 meter long and lived in the reserve for many years, maomao, parore, eagle rays, sting rays, red moki, goat fish, leather-jackets, sweep, blue cot, spotties, kelp-fish, marble-fish. Birds seen included pied shags, red-billed and Dominican seagulls, little blue penguins, reef herons, terns, gannets and petrels Other creatures seen included kina, mussel, oysters, seaweeds, turbans, kelp, seaweed, mosses, lichens, sponges, anemones, and on a few occasions we have seen marine mammals, such as dolphins, orca, whales...and SHARKS!

 Do Not forget your swimming gear if you lucky you be able to swim with the dolphin’s.
