Schedule LOCAL Day tours from Waihi, Katikati, Bethlehem and Tauranga2011/2012 season.

Day 1: Sunday’s. Day tour from Tauranga (Waihi, Katikati and Bethlehem) to Rotorua  Departure: 8.30 a.m. from Tauranga info centre, or other location as agreed. Back at about 5 p.m. Itinerary includes: Guiding, commentary, transport. Okere Falls, “Wai-O-Tapu” (admission excluded, 15% discount)) one of the best geothermal area’s in New Zealand including the eruption of the “Lady Knox” geyser and a big boiling mud pool, Kiwi 360 everything about Kiwi fruit, free fruit, wine and liqueur tasting and other product testers, sightseeing including Blue and Green lake, lake Rotorua, government gardens, more if time permits. Day 2. Monday’s.  Halve day tours, Karangahake Gorge easy nature (window) walk. Explore the old gold mining tracks along the Waithaweta River, gold mining tunnels and batteries remains. We also visit the remains of the Victoria batteries. Optional V.B. museum admission $5.  Departure: Katikati info centre 8.30 a.m. and 13.00 p.m. (about 4hrs)       $55 p.p.               Waihi info centre 9 a.m. and 13.30 p.m.  (About 3hrs). NO admission required.

Day 3: Tuesday’s. Coromandel day tour from Tauranga, Bethlehem, Katikai, Waihi.  Departure: 8.30 a.m. from Tauranga info centre, or other location as agreed. Back at about 5 p.m. Itinerary includes: Guiding, commentary, transport, visit to the Cathedral Cove, the hot water beach, Waihi, Karngahake Gorge, Katikati mural town.NO admission required.Optional boat cruise to the Cathedral Cove.  (Admission not included).                                    

Day 4: Wednesday’s.  Day tour from Tauranga.  Departure: 9.00 a.m. from (your accommodation) Tauranga info centre. Back at about 5 p.m Easy historical nature walks, explore old gold mining tunnels, Ore roasting kilns, batteries  and tramways on the windows walk see the spectacular scenery from The Karangahake Reserve, Waitawheta and Ohinemuri rivers and Te Aroha. World’s only thermal soda water spa pools from the Mokena geyser, Look out over the Western Bay of Plenty, visit Katikati mural town, olive grove, avocado, kiwi fruit  visit, 600 year old Kauri tree, more scenic sites and walks. Visit the Martha mine open pit gold mine in Waihi.
